Careers Support

The Yorkshire Deanery offers confidential, objective and impartial careers support for doctors working in the Yorkshire Deanery region.

Our site is divided into 3 main sections

  • Choosing Your Career - information and advice on choosing your specialty, working abroad, and alternatives to medicine. Includes access to the Sci59 Medical Career Interest Inventory website.
  • Written Applications - Hints and Tips on putting together an effective CV and Application Form. With a wide range of example application form questions to help you prepare.
  • Interviews - Information on effective interview technique and sample questions.

Don't Forget - you can access careers advice locally via your Education Supervisor, Foundation Training Programme Director, Clinical Tutor, Director of Medical Education etc.

Yorkshire Deanery Careers Support
David Clegg, Regional Careers Manager left the Yorkshire Deanery at the beginning of March to take up a new post as a Senior Careers Consultant at the University of Leeds Careers Centre.

At this stage we do not know when a replacement will be appointed so are unable to confirm when this careers support service (e-mail service, careers appointments at the Deanery, Careers Appointments at Education Centres, etc.) will resume.

We advise you to keep an eye on our website for further updates.
