Regional Resources
NHS libraries are a key resource supporting clinical effectiveness, education and training, research and development and patient care. Each of the major trusts in Yorkshire provides a library and information service for its staff. Historically many of these libraries only provided a service for medical and dental staff but most now offer a comprehensive service for all trust staff.
All NHS librarians make full use of available technology offering services on CD-ROM and access to electronic resources and the internet. Local NHS librarians will be pleased to give medical staff details about local services. This will include information about opening hours, electronic resources, literature searching and critical appraisal. Library staff will also be pleased to offer training on using any of the health care databases and accessing the internet.
