Continuous Professional Development

Allowances

The allowance for attendance at CPD meetings is now included in the dental contract and is only applicable to NHS dentists.

Proof of Attendance

The GDC state that the recording of CPD is the responsibility of the REGISTRANT. If you are asked to submit your records to the Council, you should provide certificates for all the CPD you claim as verifiable. Without this evidence, you will not be able to record the activity as verifiable. At each course you will be issued with the form FP84-03-06. This form serves two purposes: it is your proof of attendance recognised by the GDC and also the form with which you may claim travel expenses. You must keep a copy of this form for your own records. It is not the responsibility of the Deanery to provide your CPD Certificate for you and records are kept for quality assurance purposes only.

Travel & Subsistence Claims

If you are not claiming Travel & Subsistence, please keep your form FP84-03-06 for proof of your CPD only. Should you wish to claim back any expenses you should submit this form to the allocated Finance Department, who will be dealing with these payments on behalf of your PCT.
