Tony Kilcoyne has been a VT Dental Adviser for 17 years and currently runs the Dewsbury Scheme which supports Training Practices drawn from the Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield areas. Our VT study days are most often held on Fridays, start early August and are based at the Oakwell Centre at DDH, however there are a variety of away days to complement VDPs needs and broaden their educational experiences through the year too.
Tony's philosophy is to help VDP's become the best they can be and challenge them to become thinking dentists for the 21st Century, whilst at the same time, enjoying their Dentistry and time in VT, despite some of the doom and gloom one reads about UK Dentistry!
His own experiences range from starting in 100% NHS Practice, to Training dentists at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to now running a specialist referral centre. He is also an elected dental member of the GDC and gives educational courses at local and national level, from advanced restorative care to practice management and patient care.
With VT, you will get out of it what you put into it, personally and professionally and I have been very proud to have beeninvolved long enough to see VDPs who have come through VT in the Yorkshire Region, then go on to do great things themselves too!
