I am an international student studying at a UK university - am I eligible for the national recruitment process?
Yes, if you are studying in the UK you are automatically eligible.
I am an international student studying outside the UK - am I eligible for the national recruitment process?

I am an international student who has undertaken internship before graduation - which foundation posts can I apply for?
If you have undertaken any clinical work as part of your curriculum you can only apply for Foundation Year 2 (F2) posts. You should refer to the UKFPO website for guidance UKFPO website
I would like to enquire about the current availability of F1 posts in the Yorkshire region.

I am an overseas qualified doctor interested in current foundation posts – how do I apply?
Please refer to BMJcareers and nhs jobs You should also find find information by going to Trainee Support (on the top navigation bar) Overseas Doctors> Introduction useful. You must ensure that you have the correct registration, obtained from the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom www.gmc-uk.org

I am an overseas qualified doctor interested in future foundation posts – how do I apply?
If you have undertaken clinical work you should check your eligibility via the UKFPO website. www.foundationprogramme.nhs.uk. You should also find information by going to Trainee Support (on the top navigation bar)Overseas Doctors> Introduction useful. You must ensure that you have the correct registration, obtained from the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom www.gmc-uk.org.

Could you tell me about the application procedure for F1?
You should contact the General Medical Council to register with them before seeking work in the UK. Please refer to the UKFPO website for more information UKFPO website

I am a medical student from outside the Yorkshire region and would like to apply for your F1 programmes, how do I do this?
Please refer to our web page under the heading Foundation Training > Recruitment > Appointments Process.
I am an F1 doctor working in the UK and interested in applying for F2 posts – how do I apply?
If you are currently working as an F1 doctor in a UK hospital your local foundation school director will advise you on the local recruitment process. F1 doctors, with special reasons for wishing to apply to undertake F2 outside their local foundation school, may apply for an inter-school foundation transfer. Please see the Operational Framework Guide, Page 23, Section 55 and 56. Your Foundation Training Programme Director should be able to assist you.

I would like to enquire about F2 vacancies – current or future – how can I find out about them?
Anyone interested in working in medicine in the UK should read the information on the Modernising Medical Careers website mmc.nhs.uk to ensure they understand how medical training is undertaken in the UK. Any current vacancies for F2 posts are advertised in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and on the website bmjcareers.com and nhs jobs. Future vacancies will be advertised once local recruitment processes, matching F1 doctors currently in post to F2 posts, are complete. These local recruitment processes take place at varying times within a period from December to March. Any vacancies arising from these local processes will be advertised in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and on the website bmjcareers.com and nhs jobs
