Foundation Schools

Foundation training in Yorkshire is organised through two foundation schools:
North Yorkshire and East Coast Foundation School
West Yorkshire Foundation School

 

Inter-School Transfers -

 

The Process to follow in the case of a F1 trainee wishing to change schools for F2:

  • Trainee raises with Foundation Training Programme Director (FTPD) the intention to apply for transfer.If FTPD agrees the application can go ahead:-
  • Trainee completes the application form ‘Foundation Programme: Application for an Inter-Deanery Transfer’ and attaches:
  • Letter from the trainee, of no more than one side, stating reasons for transfer
  • Letter from FTPD supporting the application.
  • Any other relevant supporting document(s) (eg: medical report)
  • Trainee submits form and papers for approval by FTPD.
  • FTPD signs the form and forwards for approval and signature by the Foundation School Director (FSD).
  • FSD forwards signed application form and papers to the local Postgraduate Dean, to sign off.
  • Successful applications will be passed on to the receiving Foundation School/Deanery with copies forwarded to relevant local FSD.
  • The trainee will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
  • The final decision rests with the receiving deanery.
  • The final date for receipt of applications is 15 December annually.
