Foundation Schools
Foundation training in Yorkshire is organised through two foundation schools:
North Yorkshire and East Coast Foundation School
West Yorkshire Foundation School
Inter-School Transfers -
The Process to follow in the case of a F1 trainee wishing to change schools for F2:
- Trainee raises with Foundation Training Programme Director (FTPD) the intention to apply for transfer.If FTPD agrees the application can go ahead:-
- Trainee completes the application form ‘Foundation Programme: Application for an Inter-Deanery Transfer’ and attaches:
- Letter from the trainee, of no more than one side, stating reasons for transfer
- Letter from FTPD supporting the application.
- Any other relevant supporting document(s) (eg: medical report)
- Trainee submits form and papers for approval by FTPD.
- FTPD signs the form and forwards for approval and signature by the Foundation School Director (FSD).
- FSD forwards signed application form and papers to the local Postgraduate Dean, to sign off.
- Successful applications will be passed on to the receiving Foundation School/Deanery with copies forwarded to relevant local FSD.
- The trainee will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
- The final decision rests with the receiving deanery.
- The final date for receipt of applications is 15 December annually.
