In due course a School Administrator (full time) and a School Manager (part time) will be appointed - details to follow soon. Local administrative assistants have been appointed for CMT East (based in the HRI PGEC) and CMT West (based in LGI) - for details see Core Medical Training - Contacts. Meanwhile, telephone enquiries to the Yorkshire Deanery (tel. no. 0113 3431557) will be transferred by the receptionist to an appropriate individual for a response.
The Full Committee has been structured so as to embrace RCP and Deanery functions, with trainee and academic representation, but is mainly populated by the TPD's (Training Programme Directors) for all of the medical specialties contained within the School. Because of it's large size it will convene relatively infrequently, but will have the key strategic and planning functions.
The smaller Executive Committee will meet more frequently, and contains the core individuals from the Full Committee, for the purpose of making operational decisions and ensuring the smooth-running of the School on a day-to-day basis.
Three particular challenges to the School are considered sufficiently important to warrant the creation of separate sub-committees, namely allocation, the educational programme, and quality assurance. Each of these has a separate chairman, as well as trainee representatives, and is directly responsible to the Full Committee.
