Certificate of Completion of Training - CCT
All Specialist Trainees within six months of their CCT date will be expected to apply for their CCT. At present an application form is obtained from RCPCH and submitted back to the College once completed. The College check this and then submit it to the Postgraduate Medical & Education Training Board (PMETB) for final ratification. Most Specialist Trainees find this form difficult to fill in as it requires exact dates when rotation to different training post took place. Please find below a copy of the present CCT form. We would strongly suggest you fill this in as you go along and keep your CV accurate and up to date. It is not certain how this is likely to change in the future. It is also important that you have a RITA certificate (RITA C or F and a RITA G at completion of training) for every year you have trained and with documentation proving this was completed successfully. It is in your own interest that these documents are up to date and it prolongs your CCT application if documents are missing or incorrect.
The College Handbook detailing instructions on all aspects of Paediatric training can be found on the RCPCH website Paediatric Training Handbook 2003. For more details on medical training please refer to the Gold Guide. Listed below is a draft copy of the CCT form. We strongly recommend you look at this well before you are due to complete your training so that you have all the relevant details to fill it in.

Postgraduate Medical & Education Training Board - PMETB
In September 06 PMETB took over responsibility for issuing certificates of completion of training (CCT) for all doctors. At present the same procedure for applying for your CCT applies by completing the appropriate College CCT form. It is uncertain whether this is likely to change in the near future. In completing the CCT forms PMETB is insisting on clear evidence of satisfactory training for every year of your SpR programme. It is therefore essential that a RITA C (RITA F for overseas training) is available for all years of your training. It is also important that you have available evidence of training experience during that time in the form of completed RITA forms and up dated portfolio. More details can be obtained from the PMETB website.
