Assessment & Appraisals

All trainees will be expected to take part in regular educational appraisals. The RCPCH will be publishing recommendations regards the type of assessment and appraisal which all trainees will have to complete each year. Educational Supervisors will be allocated at the beginning of each post and will be responsible to make sure that all assessments and appraisals are completed during their placement. The Specialist Trainees will be expected to meet regularly with the Educational Supervisor and to complete appraisal forms as well as regular review of portfolios. It should be noted that ST1-ST6 Specialist Trainees the study leave budget is used to fund the STEP and MSc course which is a compulsory course for Yorkshire Specialist Trainees. For specialty trainees, study leave applications must be sent to Mel Webster, School Administrator before funding can be agreed.
