Specialty Sub-sites

We host a number of specialty specific sites aimed at both prospective and current trainees:

Specialty Training

Specialty training follows on from Foundation postgraduate medical training. It spans the period up to full certification, a minimum of 5 yearsSpecialty Schools are taking on a day to day role in the training of junior doctors.....

We are currently in a transition period with the emergence of Specialty Schools. The Schools are taking on a day to day role in the training of junior doctors with the Deanery adopting an overarching responsibility for the Quality Assurance of training. As schools are established we are producing specific sub-sites to this Deanery web site. We link to each of these where appropriate in the specialty listings but we also have a specific Schools section.

We continue to provide HR support to pre MMC SpRs. If you are among this group please see the pages on employment issues, these relate to you.

Special Arrangements to training can be made in various circumstances such as Out Of Programme Experience, Interdeanery Transfers and Acting up to Consultant. These are all detailed in this section, please see the item in the left hand navigation bar.

The information provided in the Specialty Training Programme listings (see left hand navigation bar) varies from one Specialty to another. As a bare mimimum we detail the contact details for key individuals.
