Appraisal and Assessment
Training in the Specialist Registrar Grade requires steady progress though planned training programmes designed to meet the curricular requirements of the Royal Colleges and Faculties and delivered to standards set by them.
Assessment of progress takes place on an annual basis. All trainees are required to attend for their annual RITA assessment which takes place at the Yorkshire Deanery before a panel of representatives nominated by the relevant Specialty Training Committee. Record of In-training Assessment (RITA) provides a record of the annual review and each individual SpR’s progress through the training programme. Confirmation of progress is forwarded to the appropriate Royal College/Faculty after the RITA has taken place.
