Employment Issues
Specialist Registrars recruited prior to August 2007 in the Yorkshire Region are employed by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust via the Lead Trust arrangement for employment following the abolition of Regional Health Authorities in 1996.
The Medical Personnel Department at the Yorkshire Deanery is responsible for the recruitment and employment (including the annual assessment process) of Specialist Registrars across all specialities in Yorkshire.
The staff in the Department work closely with the Postgraduate Dean and the Department for NHS Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, Regional Educational Advisers, Training Programme Directors and Chairs of Speciality Training Committees to ensure that a high quality service is provided for all trainees and the trusts in which they undertake their training.
